It is a part of the four seasons that some people rather not think about. We won't talk about the details of how important snow is for the flora of this area, but we will remind you of how inconvenient and dangerous the snow and ice can be. Some companies will find sub contractors to plow and shovel your snow that have never even seen your property until the night it snows out. This in many cases leads to problems with property damage or placement of snow in an area that you don't want it. Our employees keep the same routes year after year to ensure that we do your job correct and avoid any complications. We have up to date dependable equipment to keep us up and running during the heaviest of storms. We are very dependable for snow and ice service and unlike many other mid size to larger companies, not only do we do commercial properties, but we service residential areas, too.

Services offered for Snow & Ice Control

We offer snow plowing and hand shoveling services. We offer these services but allow you to choose what you want. These are some of the precipitation amounts that we use in order to gauge your contracts for when we will go out and plow your snow.

-Less than 1” (usually will fall in an Ice Management category)

-1” snowfall push/shovel
-2” snowfall push/shovel

Depending on your property, in some extreme cases, snow relocation is needed. This is when pushing the snow to a designated spot on your property is no longer an option because of excessive snow fall throughout the winter. We have found that business owners don’t want to lose valuable parking spots, yet don’t have enough area on the property for us to push the snow out of the way anymore. Snow relocation is a service we offer, but it is by request only. Please keep in mind this service is for extreme circumstances and is only done when there are no other options.

ICE MANAGEMENT

We also offer ice management services for parking lots, driving areas and pedestrian areas with a couple different forms of deicing agents. We strongly suggest use some sort of deicing agent after snow plowing/shoveling occurs. We also offer salting services without snowplowing or shoveling. This would be when conditions are wet and there are freezing temperatures. A good example is a sleet type of rain. We would use the proper deicing agent and apply it in a timely matter to help prevent anyone from slipping and falling.

ROCK SALT

We have found that rock salt is the most cost effective way to manage ice in vehicular usage areas.

-Rock salt is effective to at least 15F Degrees, and sometimes 5F degrees with no wind chill factored in.
-Rock salt is most commonly used on city streets and state high-ways. For bulk purposes, this is the best option for deicing large areas for vehicular usage.

CALCIUM CHLORIDE

Calcium Chloride is the best option when applying deicing agents to any areas for pedestrian usage such as, walkways, stairs, and wheel chair ramps. Although we can use rock salt for these same areas, the cost savings is minuscule and do not out way the benefits of Calcium Chloride. For instance, an automobile on a small patch of ice has greater stability than a pedestrian on a small patch of ice. Since Calcium Chloride works faster than rock salt and is more effective in colder temperatures, your liability is greatly diminished by using it. Feel free to call us and ask what would be best for your application.

Some points about Calcium Chloride:

-Spread calcium chloride on walkways, stairs, and wheelchair ramps.

-Calcium Chloride is effective down to almost -25F degrees (much colder than temperatures than rock slat)
